All experienced mountaineers know that psychological and physical condition are vital to the successful of an expedition.This course will address the importance of appropriate physical and mental training. It will cover the secrets of proper training, a correct diet, and a healthy lifestyle as they relate to a successful expedition. The course will address the necessity of adjusting the training regimen to fit the needs of the person depending on age, gender, strength and other specific criteria. It will also address the necessity of adjusting diet depending on whether a person works outdoors or has a sedentary lifestyle. In general, the importance of a healthy lifestyle as it relates to mountaineering will be discussed.
The fascinating topic of the psychological approach to mountaineering will be discussed on two levels. The first level deals with the ability to overcome the stress which accompanies unusual and hard conditions. The second level deals with successfully living and working together as a group.
